We are looking for a smart and hardworking person to join our team on building the future of insurance technology. As an IT Systems Administrator and Engineer, you will be involved in managing and maintaining IT infrastructure ensuring adherence to security standards and giving relevant IT support to the staff. Additionally, you will be tasked to do automation and scripting to improve the processes while maintaining the reliability of the systems and services. This role is perfect for sharpening your skills and developing your career.

What youll be doing:

• Administering backup systems and replication
• Responding to alerts from our monitoring systems and handling incidents
• Configuring new virtual machines, instances, and services
• Maintaining infrastructure automation scripts (e.g. Ansible)
• Performing disaster recovery tests
• Enforcing company security standards
• Documenting systems and services, and undertaking continual and ongoing improvement to our procedures, processes and standards
• Assisting with deployments
• Scripting and automation
• Assisting and supporting our developers and staff with technical issues
• Administering systems and ensuring a high level of organisation and structure within our IT infrastructure.

What we need you to have:

• Excellent Written and Spoken English
• 5+ years’ commercial systems administration experience in total
• 2+ years’ experience with Windows based systems specifically
• 2+ years’ experience with Linux based systems specifically
• Extensive experience managing hosting environments (Windows and Linux)
• Experience managing virtualised server and cloud environments (we use Docker, Hyper-V, Amazon AWS and Azure)
• Experience managing databases (we use MS SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL)
• High level of competency with scripting e.g. PowerShell, Bash (coding skills are highly advantageous)
• A solid understanding of networks and security
• Strong research, information elicitation, organisation, analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to thoroughly test and evaluate systems
• Experience writing and maintaining system documentation
• Experience using AI tools to complement your work and boost your productivity
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Quiet and distraction-free workspace
• Modern and reliable computer with quality microphone, headset, and webcam for clear communication
• Fast and reliable internet connection (fiber or Starlink, not mobile internet)
• Comfortable using time tracking software (Time Doctor)
• Available to work from 7am to 4pm PH time (1 hour of breaks included)
• Happy to be on call for alerts 24x7 in case systems go down, and able to respond to incidents (overtime will be paid).
• Happy to work after hours where certain changes must happen at night (overtime will be paid).
