Accountant (with Shopify experience)

GrowthAssistant is seeking a skilled and motivated Accountant for an e-commerce company. This role is integral to supporting various accounting and financial operations-related tasks. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills, and have a background in financial operations or accounting.

Salary: Up to Php 90,000 depending on experience

The Requirements:

• 3+ years experience of accounting experience
• 2+ years of experience working in Quickbooks
• 1+ years experience with Hubspot or similar CRM (sales and customer support functions)
• Has Shopify experience or other Ecommerce platform experience
• 1+ years experience with Stripe or similar platform
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel experience (v-lookup, pivot tables, and basic formulas)
• Basic experience with G-Suite
• Experience with AP and AR task management experience through ticketing systems.
• Accounts reconciliation experience for month-end close
• Has been at their previous company for at least 12+ months
• Can work on the graveyard shift on any US timezone

The Role:

• Manage full cycle AP and ensure that all invoices are recorded
• 10-15 invoices will be manually processed
• Automatic credit card invoices will need to be categorized
• Process incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Various sources of payments, i.e. Paypal, Apple Pay, etc
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts payable data
• Reconcile in Quickbooks
• Code invoices with appropriate GL code
• Month-end posting of journal entries
• Maintain the workbooks of balance sheet accounts on a month-to-month basis
• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• Perform a profit/loss fluctuation analysis
• Maintain complete records on all accounts including detailed notes on collection efforts
• Be the point of escalation, and bookkeeping, for payment inquiries such as missing payments, incorrect payment amount, and other payment related issues, and triage escalations to the payment leads
• Support logistics/fulfillment of hardware every 2 weeks - client to provide training
• Overseeing receipts of physical inventory and payments to suppliers
• Tracking payments and inventory quantities to ensure the records are accurate

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Slack and Gmail for internal comms
• Experience with reconciling Shopify payments
• Familiarity with state taxes across the states they collect taxes from
• Experience with inventory accounting and dealing with suppliers
• Familiarity with Smart Turn, Netsuite or similar logistics software
• Familiarity with SaasOptics or financial side of subscription-based business model
• E-commerce, retail, manufacturing, SAAS industry experience, ecommerce being the most important.
• Start-up or hyper growth company experience
