Backend Developer

Responsibilities:

● Work on highly available systems

● Build products in agile methodology with high focus on quality, security, reliability, availability and timeliness

● Collaborate within a Scrum team

● Contribute to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, from design, to implementation, unit testing, integration, release and support

● Review and provide feedback on technical designs, estimates, prioritization and other development issues

● Develop code to our coding standards and best practices

Requirements:

● 5-8+ years experience in a similar software development role

● Strong Java design and development experience within a web services architecture

● Outstanding analytical skills, self-motivated, high performing and goal oriented

● High levels of software engineering literacy and communication skills

● Experience designing and building high availability systems in the microservice architectural style

• Exquisite knowledge of Docker, Spring Boot/Spring framework, Junit, Maven
• Good knowledge of Git, JIRA, Jenkins and Linux

● Experience with monitoring tools like ElasticSearch, Kibana, Prometheus and Grafana

● Previous experience in a Scrum team, taking a team approach to design, development and testing

● A deep understanding of the inner workings of the JVM, its threading model and how it manages memory etc.
