Soil Tester

Job Brief We are seeking a meticulous Soil Tester - Data Entry Specialist to join our soil testing service company. This role is crucial for accurately entering and managing data collected from various soil tests conducted across multiple projects. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for detail and proficiency in handling large datasets efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities:
    Data Entry: Accurately input soil testing results and relevant data into the companys database from field reports and laboratory tests.
    Data Management: Maintain and update soil testing databases, ensuring all data is accurate, up-to-date, and readily accessible.
    Quality Control: Perform routine checks to ensure that all data entered into the system meets quality standards and is free from errors.
    Report Generation: Assist in generating data reports as needed, ensuring they are complete and correctly formatted for team review.
    Collaboration: Work closely with soil technicians and laboratory personnel to clarify any discrepancies in the test results or data recorded.
Requirements:
    Proven Experience: Experience in data entry, preferably within a scientific or technical field.
    Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills and proficiency with database software and common data entry systems.
    Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling data.
    Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively under tight deadlines.
Desirable:
    Background in Science: Knowledge of basic scientific and environmental principles, particularly in soil testing or related fields, is advantageous.
Software Proficiency:
    Database Management: Experience with databases specific to scientific or laboratory data is preferred.
    Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Excel for data organisation and analysis.
Education:
    A diploma or certificate in data management, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.

    Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse and interpret data accurately.
    Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with team members and clarify data-related queries.
    Initiative: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
