Job Opportunity: Community Development Facilitator ( Community-Based Child Protection Mechanisms Lead)

Project: Systems Approach for Ensuring Online Safety and Empowerment of Children and Young People (SAFE ONLINE)
Objective: Contribute to the empowerment and protection of children and young people against online sexual exploitation of children (OSEC) and online violence.
Role Overview: As the Community Development Facilitator - CBCPM Lead , you will play a pivotal role in mobilizing targeted communities. Your responsibilities include identifying challenges, facilitating interventions, and fostering community participation towards project ownership. Additionally, you will collect and exchange valuable insights to enhance child protection systems-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Strengthen Community-Managed Protection Mechanisms:
Facilitate the development and enhancement of community-based protection mechanisms.
Focus on preventing and effectively responding to Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC) and online violence within the assigned area.

Capacity Building for Schools:
Collaborate with schools to establish and reinforce age and gender-sensitive child protection mechanisms.
Empower educational institutions to create safer online environments for children.

Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare monthly progress reports for review and approval by the Project Manager.
Document community projects, activities, and processes to capture best practices and lessons learned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Community Development, Social Science, or related fields.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in community development, community organizing, and implementing projects related to children and youth.
Relevant knowledge and experience in child’s rights, child protection, and awareness of gender-based violence or child exploitation and abuse.
Previous work experience in a similar role or a non-government organization/s is an advantage.
Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
