Business Banking Underwriting - Credit Office Specialist IV

JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of Risk Management and Compliance, you are at the center of keeping JPMorgan Chase strong and resilient. This role provides recommendation to US Credit Officer based on a thorough knowledge of credit policy, inclusive of financial statement analysis. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, processing time, regulatory and compliance standards as well as the ability to identify, recommend, and justify policy exceptions that are mitigated by sound credit analysis and appropriate approval levels.

Job Description

In this role, you are tasked primarily to evaluates credit applications for recommendation. The purpose of this position is to facilitate Small Business loan portfolio growth and protect the bank from loss, maintaining acceptable asset quality.

The following role discipline is expected of you:

• Analyze and decision the Scored and Graded client credit relationships with exposure up to $500,000, including existing and new transactions. May involve general knowledge of the client, its industry and credit needs.
• Provides input to the structure and terms of the relevant credit products extended to clients.
• Prepares data, metrics and KPIs for relevant products and processes, escalating concerns as required. May support portfolio management functions through analysis of business financial statements, industry information and information derived from client correspondence.
• Contributes to running complex credit related models highlighting anomalies or areas of concern to management.
• Assists in preparing quantitative and qualitative credit analysis.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities

• Key Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, strong analytical and judgment skills, and strong typing skills needed. Self-motivation and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment as well as knowledge of bank systems and loan/credit operations needed. Results-oriented team player with a high level of proficiency in organizing, priority-setting, and issues management a must.

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities

• Desired Background/ Training: Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. Manila CPA Certification and prior business credit experience preferred. Bachelor’s degrees in business,
• Professional Capabilities: Analytical Thinking, Influence, Decision Making, Data Literacy
• Functional: Market and Product Knowledge, Product Management, Escalation, Policies and Procedures, Risk Management and Controls, Systems Knowledge

Shift Schedule: 10am-7pm PHT, weekends off
