OH and Safety Officer

Unleash your energy within! Be a part of the EDC Team! 1. Ensures project compliance with all government and company health regulations;
2. Administer EDCs Occupational Health policy and ensure to keep the project updated and aligned with all regulations, directives and procedures of the Corporate HSE and CMT.
3. Develop and coordinate with the contractor for hygiene programs, employee health programs and medical monitoring programs for employees;
4. Review Contractors HSE policies dedicated to the well-being and safety of employees in the workplace with the aim to prevent work-related illness and injury;
5. Coordinate with the contractor to design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and
prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical and biological agents in the workplace;
6. Identifies workplace health hazards and proposes actions to prevent accident or mitigate the effects of identified risks;
7. Identify training needs and facilitates health promotion and education programs;
8. Investigate health-related complaints and inspect facilities to ensure that they comply with public health legislation and regulations;
9. Conduct regular (i.e. daily, weekly) safety walkthrough with the contractor in the project site to inspect and ensure health and safety compliance and provide advice and guidance around making reasonable adjustments to working conditions;
10. Prepare and submit regular report on health walkthrough performed with the contractor;
11. Address health concerns raised by project management team and other personnel; 12. Make immediate investigations of accidents/ incidents and report findings and recommendations to the site manager;
13. Promotes adherence to and supports all company health, safety, security and environmental rules, policies and procedures with a zero-tolerance mentality;
14. Provides technical health and safety support to critical plant or company activities.
15. Assist the project management team in facilitation of health committee meetings on a periodic basis.
16. Conduct health orientation to new or newly transferred employees, visitors and contractors guests to impart and improve their health awareness.
17. Drive EDC’s Good Catch program.
18. Performs other duties and health related functions as necessary to ensure an accident-free and safeworkplace.
