Are you passionate about providing exceptional service, managing complex billing processes, and ensuring claims are handled accurately and efficiently? Were looking for a Billing Specialist to join our team and help us streamline our claims management and billing operations. What Youll Do
  • Contact workers compensation (WC) insurance carriers, adjusters, and web portals to address outstanding bills and claims.
  • Prepare and submit claims, ensuring accuracy and correcting errors as needed.
  • Handle appeals, gather required documentation, and submit them promptly.
  • Update and maintain accurate insurance and patient billing demographics.
  • Monitor trends or billing issues and alert the team and managers proactively.
  • Post payments, document records, and address payment issues on time.
  • Scan and upload documents and medical records for claims processing.
  • Stay up-to-date with state workers compensation guidelines.
Key Skills and Responsibilities
  • Perform follow-ups on WC and No-Fault billing, claim denials, and appeals.
  • Analyze charts and correspondence to determine case merits.
  • Draft professional responses to resolve collection issues and negotiate settlements.
  • Retrieve authorizations/referrals from insurance companies.
  • Manage all aspects of billing, including charge entry, payments, and accounts receivable (A/R).
  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing daily tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other legal standards.
Your Expertise
  • Basic medical terminology related to occupational injuries and diseases.
  • Knowledge of workers compensation billing and claims management practices.
  • Familiarity with Orthopedic and Pain Management coding and bundling rules (preferred).
  • Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and CCI edits.
  • Experience with major insurance carriers, including in- and out-of-network services.
  • Excellent phone and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to use EHR systems, Excel spreadsheets, and other office tools efficiently.
