Assistant Vice President - Operations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads a multi-disciplinary team (area managers, project managers, engineers, site staff, subcontractors, etc.)

  • Ensures all projects comply with company policies, industry regulations, and contractual requirements.

  • Coordinates with internal teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.

  • Provides leadership, mentoring, and guidance to project teams, fostering a culture of accountability.

  • Monitors project progress, identifies risks, and implements mitigation measures to address potential delays or issues.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferably with Masters degree or MBA)

  • Preferably a Licensed Engineer (PRC).

  • 10-15 years in construction or engineering operations (preferably commercial and industrial), with at least 5 years in a leadership role

  • Proven track record in managing MEPF projects

  • Strong background in:

    • Project management and project closure (budget, schedule, quality)

    • Contracts management and claims management

    • Management of multiple projects simultaneously (optimizing resource allocation)

Technical and Operational Skills

  • Strong knowledge of MEPF systems, codes, standards and best practices

  • Familiarity with safety, quality and compliance regulations in the construction industry

  • With expertise in budgeting, cost control and contract administration

  • Preferably proficient in construction project management tool (primavera, ms project, bim/revit, autocad)

  • Experience with lean construction method and value engineering

Leadership and Strategic Competencies

  • Ability to develop and implement operational strategies that align with company goals

  • Strong people management skills (build high performance team, succession planning, mentoring)

  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills (client relations, vendor negotiations, partnership)

  • Proven track record of improving efficiency, reducing cost, increasing profitability

  • Decision making skills in complex, high-pressure project environments
