Responsibilities
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Customs Broker - Importation Specialist based in the Philippines to manage import transactions and serve as the key liaison between the company and third-party customs brokers. The role ensures full compliance with Bureau of Customs (BOC) regulations, efficient documentation flow, and seamless communication to support timely import clearance and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and third-party customs brokers, coordinating documentation and shipment clearance.
Ensure all import documentation (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Import Permit, etc.) is complete, accurate, and submitted to the broker in a timely manner.
Monitor the end-to-end customs clearance process and follow up on the status of shipments with brokers and logistics providers.
Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Procurement, Finance, Warehouse) to gather accurate shipment details and ensure proper classification.
Assist in resolving customs-related issues (e.g., hold orders, red lane alerts, discrepancy notices) with the help of the third-party broker.
Maintain strong knowledge of Philippine import regulations, including BOC rules, PEZA/Batangas/Clark Freeport zone regulations (if applicable), and other relevant agency requirements (FDA, DENR, DTI, etc.).
Ensure proper filing and archiving of all import documents in compliance with BOC audit requirements.
Track broker performance and provide regular reports to management on delays, issues, and KPIs.
Participate in customs audits, post-entry corrections, and broker compliance reviews.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
Bachelors degree in Customs Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
Experience:
Fresh Graduate of importation, logistics, or customs brokerage.
Skills:
Strong understanding of BOC procedures, import laws, and related government agency permits.
Proficient in trade documentation and tariff classification.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient in MS Excel, Word
Working Conditions:
May require working beyond regular hours during shipment issues or peak periods.
